About Us
The program is here as a guide to help ensure that seniors are able to
find the right information and ensure an understanding of that knowledge.

WHO ARE WE?
The
West Hants Seniors Safety Association is an organization that is governed by
a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is composed of volunteers from
the local community. Acting as a Board, the Directors have the power to
direct the organization in such a way as to make certain the objectives of
the program are achieved. The program is a non-profit organization, totally
funded through donations and fund-raising activities. The Program operates
out of office space provided by the Windsor District RCMP Detachment. Other
partners associated with the program are the Royal Canadian Legion Branch
009, the West Hants Community Health Board and the West Hants/Cobequid
Preventing Falls Together Coalition.
We exist to
Promote safer communities for all senior residents through awareness,
implementation and maintenance of various crime prevention programs and
strategies in partnership with community groups such as the RCMP.
To educate and provide programs that would meet the above need at any one
time.
To identify problems relating to senior safety & crime prevention and
wherever possible provide solutions.
To promote functions and programs for improvement of the quality of life for
seniors.
To promote interagency cooperation on matters dealing with safety and crime
prevention. |
